We heart Nicole

Jack and Kaitlin are very lucky to have many cousins. They only have two cousins their age (Sarah and Riley!) but numerous other 2nd, 3rd and maybe even 4th cousins (the connections get a little hazy). One of these special cousins is Nicole.

For their birthdays, Nicole sent both of them these fantastic packets filled with pictures from greeting cards, stamps, postcards, book pages, stickers and told them to tell stories about the images they saw.

The kids were thrilled with having their very own picture packets and they have been with us on a car trip or two. Such interesting stories these kids come up with! So to thank Nicole, Jack took the idea one step further and wrote and illustrated a story inspired by the dinosaur card in his packet. I so wish I would have taken copies of this story before mailing it (Nicole, you are required to forever keep this story). Kaitlin also drew a picture that we sent along with it. So the kids were super excited to receive another great gift from Nicole this past week . . . a puzzle!

As you can see, they spent a lot of time putting the pieces together so they could read the special message from Nicole.

Jack and Kaitlin may not understand how all these cousins are related to them, but they do know that a cousin is just another person who loves them. Lucky kids, indeed.
