Back to school

A big day for Jack -- the first day of 2nd grade and also the day that top front tooth finally came out!

And just like that, summer is over. Jack started 2nd grade yesterday and Kaitlin starts pre-school next week. Where did the summer go? Those two and a half months literally flew by . . . but the nice weather is hanging on, for a little while at least!

Here are a few scenes from our last weeks of summer vacation. One last trip to the zoo for the summer (we were there while the new baby elephant was delivered, but were unable to see him), a gigantic grasshopper on the wall, the Captain Bogg & Salty concert at the park, and a visit to the Chinese Garden with Cousin Sarah.
