Jack is eight. EIGHT?

How can this be? Again, another year has flown by and now he's eight. Unbelievable!

Jack had a very busy birthday! He had school, then in the evening we went to his school's carnival where he and many others bounced, slid, and played games. The next morning was day one of a weekend soccer tournament (more on that in another post) then his party with four friends (plus Kaitlin) later at our house. Calm would not be a word that I would use to describe the birthday party. But they all had fun eating pizza, playing Mario Kart on the Wii, destroying a pinata, and watching Madagascar 2 outside. We were able to use a projector Erick borrowed from work to project the movie on a sheet hanging on the house. It wasn't really dark enough, but the kids could still see it somewhat and we enjoyed watching 8-year old boys boogie down to "Move it." So a very fun birthday for this newly minted 8-year old.

He said he wasn't very surprised that he got a DSi. Probably because he talked about it so much he just assumed. Well, he assumed right!

This is the view we see of Jack a lot lately. *sigh*
